It was used for online notes, discussions, quizzes, etc... basically the same thing as ELM.

Well I don't even know what ELM does, I've only used it to complete the Science 1A00 quiz. I guessed it was for quizes and such.

You'll see soon enough. It'll mainly be used for information on your courses (if the teacher is using ELM) such as course outlines, online notes, test information. It can also be used to test your knowledge with quizzes.

Its going to be an online resource. Baisically notes, images, lecture information, important dates, lab maneuls. Everything you will need for class. How it is used will vary from course to course. Some courses make really really good uses of it while others just use it minimaly for online quizes.
WebCT and ELM are really the same thing it just a whole new interface. WebCT has been upgraded but to me it seems to have been downgraded.

I liked WebCT but I'm open to change however I REALLY hope that ELM is still compatible with iPhones. One thing that really bugs me these days is that a lot of sites (Ex. Facebook and Hotmail) are going "Live" and that is not compatible with mobile phones. So I hope ELM, especially the discussion forums, will work on my iPhone. WebCT was so simple and easy to load.

I agree, the "Live" versions don't work well, but there's specific versions just for cellphones, it's such a big difference.

Yeah, I realize there are mobile versions even specifically for iPhones but only for more popular sites like Hotmail and Facebook but not for smaller sites (for example, I'm sure ELM wouldn't bother with a mobile site if it isn't compatible).
I actually prefer the mobile versions, whenever Hotmail is being ridiculously slow loading I just go on my phone. lol
