Got charged for moving out late.
Hi,

I got charged $50 for moving out late, I was suppose to move out of residence like at 5pm but my dad's work finishes at 8 pm. Is there anyway I can appeal or something?

Even if I get charged, the guy told me they will update the $50 end of the month on my mugsi account does that mean my grade reports is blocked till I pay the $50 off which is like end of the month?

Who should I contact? Any ideas?

Thanks

i doubt you would get an appeal... i believe they have an option to request a later move-out that your designated date/time

i dont think your grade report will be blocked.. because i realized today i owed mac $5 but was still able to see my marks just now... but thats probably becasue it was just 5

Contact Student Accounts and Cashiers to see if the 50$ charge is already on their system and if you can pay it off. As for an appeal, housing would be my best bet. http://housing.mcmaster.ca/index.php

The request for an extension is only valid for out-of-province/country pre-booked flights or for academic reasons (change of exam, lab/thesis work, etc..)

Even though this is the case, I also doubt an appeal would be granted. The move-out day was known by the student for over a month so it's expected that the student would be able to accommodate the move-out day and if there was any reason why the student was able to then they should have contacted housing a long time ago.

Seriously? My marks are blocked and I didn't owe much more than that. Paid it off this afternoon, hopefully they unblock my marks soon.

It usually takes several days for them to process any deposit, around 3-5 business days (personal experience).
