If you want to be in honours, you need at least a 6.0. For the three-level life sciences, you only need a 3.5

Just be careful to pay attention for the courses where you need to get a minimum grade.

All the info is here: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calen...08/sec_626.htm

with an honours degree.. you can apply to grad school and is the typical four year degree... the non-honours degree is three years long and you cant apply to grad school with it.

Hey I had a similar question but i'm applying as a second year going into third year =)
I'm hoping to get into the life sciences program in level III but i'm not sure how it works...will they still be looking at my first year marks? Or is it the 6 from my second year marks that they'll be looking at?
As well, i took both Bio 1A03/AA3 courses at another university and so i'm wondering how they'll calculate my averages from those since Mac doesnt transfer the marks but just the credits..
Any help would be appreciated!

Hmmm...

Well, technically to be admitted after Year I you are supposed to have a higher average than what is required in order to be accepted. Or so I have heard from academic advisers. BUT, there is no actual number other than the average given for first years.

As for the Bio courses...I really don't know. Courses from other schools technically aren't given a "grade" at McMaster, they're just considered complete. I'd contact someone in Science.
