I don't think so. The university is officially closed from Dec 25th, 2010 to Jan 2nd 2011.

just to assure the marks we get on grade report is out of 12 right? so does that mean that anyone with less than 6 on the final grade failed that course and what happens if they do so?

No 0 is a fail, 0 means below 50% on the course.

90 - 100% A+ 12
85 - 89% A 11
80 - 84% A- 10
77 - 79% B+ 9
73 - 76% B 8
70 - 72% B- 7
67 - 69% C+ 6
63 - 66% C 5
60 - 62% C- 4
57 - 59% D+ 3
53 - 56% D 2
50 - 52% D- 1
0 - 49% F 0

NOOOOOO. That's not how the 12-point system works! You only fail if you get a 0.

This should clear things up!

EDIT: Damn, you beat me to it Nick! But I had to upload that image

Yes its out of 12. A 6 is equal to a C+. If you get a zero then you fail.

-edit: nevermind, you beat me to it

Not allowed to take that second semester course (unless you can convince the dean of your faculty to allow you to take it even with the failure in the pre-req, in which case you would still have to re-take the course in summer or something).

But most people would just re-do that failed course in the summer and then take the next course in summer too (since there are two "semesters" in summer as well).

Exactly that. Sometimes professors can give waivers, but you have to contact them and such, it worked for a lot of people I know.
Also, retaking a course means your final mark is averaged with that 0.. So if someone gets 0 and a 12, it'll be 0+12= 12/2, so a 6 is the highest grade anyone can get after retaking a failed course (which you HAVE to do if it's a required course).

you just need atleast an 8 on chem 1aa3

but aim higher because those are only minimum requirements and it is a limited program

Uh, I think there's an error with my Grade Report, I got a 0 in Chem, and I'm pretty sure the worst I've could've done is at least pass the course. Who do I talk to? I feel like my exam mark was not entered in.

Probably registrar office and professor.

Are you sure you calculated your mark correctly? How much was the exam worth? 40% or 45% I assume?
