Grading System
Hey guys,
With the current McMaster 12 grade-point system (as seen here), is a 90% (or above) the technical grade-point equivalent as 100%? I ask because I'm stressing over a mark, but my roomate tells me that 90% is the same as 100% since they're both a '12' or 'A+' on your transcript, unlike high school where your final grade (and inevitably, your sessional/cumulative average) goes by the specific percentage.

I'm not really sure how to answer your question.
Both are considered an A+, but I don't think you can say that a 90% = 100% because that is obviously not true. If it was a transcipt mark, it would be a 12/A+. McMaster doesn't give final percentage grades come January-ish; only numbers based on the 12 point scale.
Wow, stressing over a 90%....

I guess what I meant to ask was if percentage grades show up on transcripts and/or are used to calculate averages, which apparently isn't the case.
So yeah, you answered my question, thanks =]

From what I gather, your final grade will be calculated as a percent. Then on the actual transcript it will show up as a number on the 12 point system.

And averages are based on your grade points - not percentages. So essentially a 90 is just as good as 100... so try hard, but not too hard.

If you are applying for post-grad college, you do so through ontariocolleges.ca and you can request a transcript be sent from McMaster online through the ontariocolleges.ca website. Thankfully it is free for McMaster students to request transcripts

Pricing for transcripts depends, actually.
If you want your transcript(s) mailed to another institution you have to pay. If they are being mailed to you or if you're picking them up you don't have to pay.
