Green Jobs: Bridging the Gap

With the goal to connect McMaster students with jobs related to sustainability, Simon Webb (graduate student) is working on a project entitled, Green Jobs: Bridging the Gap. The projects is focused on identifying the following:
1. What employers are looking for, including skills, abilities, certifications, experience, etc.;
2. What skills students have;
3. How McMaster can better prepare students for a future in sustainability.

Utilizing the findings, Simon hopes to implement at least one tangible outcome to support students in preparing for a career in sustainability. Examples may include: hosting a networking event, developing a job or volunteer board, hosting a speaker series, filming vignettes of sustainability professionals or developing a marketing/communication campaign.

Simon hopes to work with other students at the graduate and/or undergraduate level who are also interested in the research process and/or implementation of related programs.

If you are interested in taking part, please visit the GUCEL Website (see tab for Get Involved) for available internship opportunities, or Contact Melissa Gallina, GUCEL Program Coordinator, at [email protected].
