Gross poutine from Chip Wagon
I just wanted to post my frustration about a poutine I got from Chip Wagon today. It was so gross. The fries were cold - I took it straight to Union Market after I bought it to heat it up in the microwave. The fries were all hard and crunchy, the plastic fork wouldn't even go through them! Overall, it was very cold and gross. It cost me 4 freakin bucks! I wish I went to La Piazza instead. I would have honestly thrown it out but I'm ridiculously cheap. I'm usually not too picky about this kind of stuff but this was so nasty. :(

I'm going to enlighten you to a fact of life:
any poutine that ISN'T from Quebec is disgusting.

I don't know if it's always like that, this is the first time I've been. The food is served from a different area than the food in 1280, so it's not the same poutine you'd get in the restaurant. Hopefully it was a fluke.

Maybe. I saw another girl with poutine in the student centre too, she might have used your microwave.
I should have asked if hers was as disgusting as mine!

I get poutines from time to time and love them... maybe once I had one that wasnt the greatest... crap like that happens, its no big deal.
I agree with Andrew, I would have returned it or asked for another one

From the Chip Wagon, Ash? I've had them from 1280 before and they're usually great. This is my first experience with Chip Wagon though.
I would have been uncomfortable asking for another one. It was busy between classes and the girl who was working the window had two or three friends around, talking and stuff .. I'm too awkward to do that kind of thing :/

I've gotten a soggy hot dog there before, so I'm not surprised. Can't say much for plain fries either. Maybe they should step up their game, especially with willy dog outside

Miss Cheri is 100% correct. Poutine is not properly made 99.9% of the time outside of Quebec, and therefore is disgusting.

That's what I thought too. But there's a separate area in Chip Wagon for their food. It looks like the food is cooked in 1280, then it sits out for hours in one of those rotating heating machines. It definately wasn't anything like 1280's poutine.
