Brought one before. Not awkward unless you have a big class and you have to make your way
to the middle of the row. I sat beside the aisle.

I'll also be there. I don't have much guitar experience but I'm bringing it anyway. I need to figure out how to carry it around with a bike without a guitar bag though, does anyone know where I can get a guitar bag?

Hey, Allison. Everyone is welcome to join! It's all for fun!
There's only one place I buy my stuff and it's up the Hamilton Mountain.
I'm just assuming that you can grab a "gig-bag" for around 20 bucks. It won't be the best
but it will get you by.
If you want something a bit on the decent-ish side, look at Ritter gig-bags.

Okay so question, I am actually interested in learning not a guitar but another string instrument called the "Rubab"( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubab). It has three main strings tuned to C#, F#, B and other sympathetic(13) and supportive(2) strings. However there is not alot available online to help me self learn it, would anyone in this new guitar club feel they are experienced enough to guide me with learning it?

It depends. I haven't seen one in person and I don't know if you can apply some techniques
to rubab.
I play some slide guitar with different tunings so that won't be a problem, but I don't really
know what to do with rubab and how to actually "fret" notes on it. Sorry.

The extent to which I understand it is through the "Sargam"(Sa-Re-Ga-Ma....) which is the exact same thing as the Do Re Fa(The Solfege) this video has a the basic and only tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am3Uo7N4Z5g

i'm coming. As for that wierd instrument, more or less, technique you'll have to tackle yourself. But that's half the battle. Once you know theory, you should be able to make some pretty noises, thats where we can help you.
