Hello
I joined a while ago and apparently I was supposed to do this.

Hi, I have applied to McMaster for health sci and life sci. I have already been accepted to life sci and I am happy wkith that. I applied because I know it is just as good as health sci and I had a better chance of being accepted.

I thought I would get a feel for the people who go here by joining the forum because I do not know anyone who goes here.

You should go to Frosh Week, so that even if you don't make friends then (which is actually unlikely), you can use it as an ice-breaker.

Everyone at Mac's nice, if you respect them and treat them well. Also, the profs are usually very approachable (the TAs even more so), as long as you only ask or visit them when it's not for something silly.

MI is not a good sample population to gauge the McMaster population, though. Although there's a plethora of pleasant MI users, There aren't really that many regulars, and there are trolls and people waving their e-peens in delight. If you really want to get a feel for the people who go here, go to the campus.

That made me laugh SO hard, thank you!

Just so you know, I have not encountered any trolls on here as of yet.

Welcome 'lordnerd'! haha. nice username. There are PLENTY of people to meet... you'll hopefully also meet some users from MI at our "Macinsiders Meetups". Definitely attend as many Welcome Week events as you can... especially Mac Connector which will let you quickly meet many students at once (think speed dating but wayyyy more fun!). See you around in the MacInsiders forums, be sure to tell your friends about MacInsiders so we can get a bunch of new first years in here to help answer any questions you/they may have!

MirandaC says thanks to Chad for this post.
