Yes you can transfer between second year programs if you wish to do so, meet the requirements, and there are seats available (although I believe honours life sciences doesn't have a seat limit). You will have to talk to an academic adviser if you wish to do so.

The requirement is a 6 average for both biology 1M03 and 1A03 AND both psychology 1X03 and 1XX3. If you don't meet this requirement you should talk to an academic adviser to see what your options are.

i'm only able to apply to life sciences (BSc) and not honours, but this is only a 3 yr program. i want to do honours life sciences, will it be hard to get in by the end of 2nd year? (i.e. get over 6 in second year)

Academic success is dependent on the person. If you are struggling with achieving the requirements then I highly advise talking to an academic adviser as well as student success centre.
But like I said, you should talk to an academic adviser first, maybe they'll give you a waiver.

ok thank you, and if i repeat one of the courses in summer school, will they use that mark for admission into honours life sciences or will they not be able to look at it (as they have to be done during day school)? also, how do decimals work in GPA's? (i.e. is a 7.9 considered an 8 or a 7)? thanks

Courses taken in summer school may or may not be looked at for admission into a program for September.
Since Honours Life Science shouldn't have a seat limit, courses taken during summer may be looked at. Like I said, talk to an academic adviser. They may give you a conditional acceptance to the program with the condition being completing a summer course with the grade to achieve the required average.
McMaster truncates all GPAs to the 1st decimal place. So a 7.9 is a 7.9. A 7.91 is a 7.9, a 7.99 is a 7.9.
