Help with SOLAR!
I got reinstated just yesterday and when registering for courses i pressed verify changes , i got this big yellow box on top of the course table saying "You have taken this course before and received a failing grade. This addition will be marked as a Repeat: ENGINEER 1C03
You have taken this course before and received a failing grade. This addition will be marked as a Repeat: ENGINEER 1D04 " .... and for a couple other courses as well that i failed .
I'm confused now ... doesn't reinstatement wipes your previous record and gives you a clean slate so you can start fresh ? would these comments will also be present on my degree and transcripts too ?
Please help .
Thanks !

Reinstatement lets you back in to have a chance to try these courses again.

The comments are part of your record, and therefore, your transcript.

Your degree would have no way to record this information.

Reinstatement doesn't mean wiping your record clean. If that was the case, a lot of people would opt for that. Your transcript would still show both failed courses and the repeats.

It's not quite a clean slate, but your CA is reset to 0.0/x number of units retained.

Don't worry. Even with that on your transcript, an upward trend in your grades will impress employers. Everyone knows it's not exactly fair to entirely judge somebody a year's worth of screwing up at age 18. Working to get back in shows determination, working to get your grades up will show maturity and working to change your habits will show strength of character. Then you have four (or five) years worth of hopefully good grades which will speak for themselves.
