Honours Political Science/Regular
Hey guys, had a couple questions and were hoping some of you would be able to clear them up for me.

As it stands i am currently in 2nd year Honours Political Science. The requirements for me to get into Honours after first was a cumulative GPA of 6.0.

Now, going forward do i need to maintain that? Does it vary per program or do i need to attain a 6.0 to continue into 3rd year Honours Poli Sci as well.

Also, what about this scenario...if i happened to be in just regular political science next year which would be my 3rd year...what happens then? Regular poli sci is just a 3 year degree so if for some reason i can't get back into honours am i done at school? Technically i would be since its only a 3 year programme and to get back into honours next year will i just have to attain honour roll marks?

Im afraid that being in regular poli sci and finishing off all the requirements for a simple B.A. in political science wont give me the option to continue my 4th year and get into Honours again? any help?

You should really contact your department office. They are generally very helpful and they know a lot more about your program than students. Try dropping by wherever their office is located or give them a call/email.

Hope it all works out for you!

You have a certain average to maintain every year to remain in honours, yes. I believe that is a 6.0 for Soc Sci/Humanities programs.

If you do not/are not able to enroll in an honours program by the completion of your third year, you will not be able to graduate with an honours degree in Poli Sci (Honours Bachelor of Arts), you will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts.

You can also check out the under grad calender section on Poli Sci in lieu of seeing your faculty office before they open: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...09/pg1665.html
