You're right - I just checked and mine says the same.
I guess it was extended.
I was going by the email I got like a week and a half ago.

Yep! I emailed one of the Instructional assistants for one of my courses, and they extended it to Oct 8 'cause of all the trouble with ELM.

By the way, the quiz is super easy. You can also have the powerpoint open in one window and the quiz in another.
