HTH SCI 1G03 PSYCHOBIOLOGY take as an elective?
I wanna take Psychobiology as an elective. I was wondering how difficult is this course? How hard is it to get double digits? I already have a lot of hard courses from life sci and I don't want this to bring down my average?

Also I am taking Psych 1Y03. Is Psychobiology similar to Psych 1Y03.

Overall should I pick Psychobiology or stick with French 1A03

Thanks for the help.

Sorry about all the Qs

I had to take psychobio in first year, it is a very easy course, but you have to write weekly journals and a group essay. The group essay is a lot of work and you need to put effort in to get a good mark. Overall, it was an easy course though, really easy to get double digits if that's what you're aiming for. I took french 1a06 and it was an awful course to be honest. I personally, don't like grammar and that's pretty much all you do, there's one presentation but it's not even graded. Both were easy, french will be less work for sure but both aren't very interesting. For french, you need a good background in grammar as well as writing. If you're looking for an easy mark you might wanna go with micro or macro economics which are supper easy but apparently not too interesting. gerontology is also an easy elective and a lot of the earth science courses are too. you might wanna browse through your undergraduate calender and look under the reviews. I hope at least some of this helped!

Psych 1X03 is an antirequisite for HTH SCI 1G03
However, if you're in life sciences you have to take Psych 1X03

HTH SCI 1G03 PSYCHOBIOLOGY
This course introduces essential components of the central and peripheral nervous systems as well as key regulatory systems. Concepts such as plasticity, homeostasis, compensation and adaptation and ways in which failure of these regulatory systems can lead to illness states are examined.
Two lectures, one tutorial; one term
Prerequisite(s): Credit or co-registration in BIOLOGY 1A03 or HTH SCI 1I06
Antirequisite(s): PSYCH 1A03
Not open to students with credit or registration in PSYCH 1XX3.

It says the Antirequisite is PSYCH 1A03 NOT Psych 1X03. Are PSYCH 1A03 and Psych 1X03 the same course? Does that mean I can't take psychobiology.

I am just a little confused. Thanks for the help.

PSYCH 1XX3 is very similar to Psychobiology so it's not just an antirequisite... if you've taken psych 1xx3, it's practically the same as taking Psychbiology..and thus you're not allowed to take Psychobiology, sorry =(.

But I haven't taken PSYCH 1XX3. I am planning on taking PSYCH 1X03. Is that a problem too?

You can definitely take PSYCH 1X03 as well as Psychobio, I did it this year. As far as if you should take psychobiology, it is an alright course, the weekly journals aren't that bad although the group essays could be somewhat frustrating at times. Another good aspect of psychobiology is that it does not have exams, so that definitely helps to lighten your schedule in December
