Icelandic?
Does McMaster offer Icelandic or any Nordic language for that matter? If not, are there any private tutors or anyone who may teach that?

Inb4 go to web

jks, but you can find language course listings on the undergraduate calendar. There are private tutors as well but it won't be worth any credits :S

University of Manitoba offers Icelandic. But that really doesn't help you at all.

Iceland is awesome though. Coolest country on the planet. No pun intended

Thanks you two. xD Not much help, but at least I got a good laugh. Or two. Or seven.

Also, they should start having clubs for languages in McMaster.

Inb4 they already do

The closest you're gonna get is German.

If that's not good enough, livemocha.com

Why would you want such a useless language?

http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...12/pg1812.html

There's a list of the language courses available at McMaster there.

No language is useless... My god in heaven it's the coolest sounding language ever. If I could learn a small amount of Icelandic (about 7-10 sentences), I would find that incredibly strange, yet impressive.

I reiterate though... Of all the countries I've visited, it's one of the only ones I can't wait to go back to. Beautiful place, people, the NIGHTLIFE, and they absolutely adore Canadians. A lot. Learning their language even a little bit is always helpful.

Unless you want to live in Iceland or in some random part of Manitoba (and don't feel like speaking English), then ya... it is kind of useless. It's been cut-off from the other nordic languages for so long that it's no longer mutually intelligable.

Also, it's complicated and a half. Go with Swedish/Norweigian/Danish instead. They're all pretty much dialects of the same language.

If I were a girl, and a guy came up to me and spoke Icelandic to me, I'd be legitimately impressed.
