Don't. It's not worth it, and there's really nothing special about it. Thanks a lot, Dan Brown..

The Illuminati concept wasn't created by Dan Brown, however he did make it popular. I personally don't believe in it but they are supposed to be a powerful group of individuals who are really in control of the world. New world order and such.

Long answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illuminati
Short answer: Secret society that people use in conspiracy theories alot. They are said to control the world by controlling the government of all affluent nations from the shadows.

It's basically that all of the great thinkers and scientists belonged to this group that secretly control the world. I know Dan Brown didn't create it, but the whole thing is a bit ridiculous. It's almost in the same line as Free Masons, except the Illuminati probably doesn't exist..

Here's a thought. If all these people are so great why would we complain about being ruled by them?
Also what's the address I feel like I should be sending in a membership application.

The illuminati exist (or existed) but the idea that they have anywhere near the power that conspiracy theorists say they do is ultimately ridiculously.

Because, for some reason, people are scared of being led by capable people

Yeah it's a ridiculous notion. It's up there with reptilian conspiracy theorists on the crazy scale.
