im worried
So this is my first year at university and none of my friends are going to Mcmaster most are going to queens and western. And instead of being at Mac for frosh week i got dragged to Queens with my friends and girlfriend. I am worried about making friends at Mac. Should i be worried?

nope.

because you've decided to go to frosh week at queens you'll just have to work a little bit harder at meeting people since you're not at WW

Honestly, out of all the (3) friends I made at Welcome Week I still only talk to one. I made more friends in my classes and by joining clubs.

I too made way more friends by taking the initiative during classes than Welcome Week.

I seem to be the complete opposite.

I've made only about five friends from classes in all the years I've been here. Most of my friends I made through my res, being a WW rep, MSU stuff, or through friends of friends.

It likely just depends on what kind of person you are...I'm the quiet/shy type, so I kept more to myself during WW anyway. The classroom provided the ideal, mutual commitment that made it easy for me to get to know people. (:

I'm the...weird type?

Sometimes I'm incredibly gregarious and others I'm super anti-social.

srsly, ditch the friends(use email if you still like them) and make some new ones. Trust me, the people you meet at mac(during WW and other times) are gonna have the most impact in your life since you're here. Just don't be a dragalong, and make your own friends.

You'll make more friends from residence and classes/clubs than WW anyways.

I'm the same as you Mowicz . OP, if you join one club I guarantee you'll make as many or more friends than during welcome week. I've made like 15 from the Japanese Club. Lol

You don't need to be Japanese to join the Japanese club. Anyone can join any club on campus.
