Installing Fonts to Windows/Font Folder
I have a problem. I can't install fonts directly to my Windows --> Fonts folder. I have to install them all into some other folder (doesn't matter which, just any folder... I made a Fonts folder on my desktop >_>) and then copy and paste them all into the Windows --> Fonts folder.

HOW CAN I JUST INSTALL THEM DIRECTLY INTO THE WINDOWS --> FONTS FOLDER?

I made the folder non read-only and it didn't change anything, just in case someone was about to suggest that.

And it doesn't say anything when I do it... it extracts from winzip and when I go to check the folder to see if the new font is there, it's not.

So the normal method where you drag and drop the font file(not a folder) into the fonts folder isn't working? If it isn't letting you extract files directly to your fonts folder, you probably have some sort of problem with permissions... But really I got nothing.

No, that works just fine. I just hate doing it (I install like 50+ fonts a day >_>)

I just want to be able to extract them directly into the Windows/Fonts folder. D:
&& how do I change permissions? I'm the admin, lol.

Why on earth do you need to install 50+ fonts a day?

Do not question.
Just accept the absurd statement.

Admin priviliges? I only usually have problems with moving/extracting things since Windows 7..

It's because of the way Windows handles fonts. Font files aren't just files, Windows actually extracts data from them when you drag them into the Fonts folder, thus 'installing' the font. As a result, you must have an extracted copy lying somewhere on your hard dick. Windows uses this copy to install the font to the Fonts folder. This is also why, when you drag fonts into the Fonts folder, the fonts are copied and not moved. Normally, when you drag and drop files on the same volume, the files are moved to the new location, not copied.

The easiest way to do what you're doing is to create a shortcut to the Fonts folder on your desktop, extract all the fonts to your desktop, and then drag them all into the shortcut folder. You can delete the fonts after.
You should be able to do it all in under 5 clicks.

Hope that helps.

Thanks.

That's pretty much what I do now, except I extract to a random folder, then just copy/paste to the Fonts folder.
5 clicks is still too many though. Lame that you can't just extract into it. =[

Can't you just right-click and install?

That still involves me extracting it to a folder that isn't the Windows/Fonts folder.

I was just wondering if there's a way to install directly into the Fonts folder. D:

Yeah, I don't think there's a way around that.. It's annoying, but it doesn't take THAT long

It's more annoying than time-consuming.

Oh wells.
