Inter-Residence Council: VP Finance Position Available

Do you like working with money? If so we’ve got an offer for YOU!

The Inter-Residence Council (IRC) is currently looking for an individual who is able to upkeep the financial records and assets of the IRC to fulfill the role as the Vice President Finance.

The IRC represents the student body living within residence through advocacy and programming. The VP Finance is one of six executive members and acts as a Core Buddy to at least one Hall representative and one Programming rep providing advice and counsel.

This position is open to any full-time student. It is a great opportunity for those currently enrolled in Commerce or a similar field. However, anyone can apply for this position. If elected, you will be required to live in the Mary E. Keyes residence for the 2008-2009 school year. You will also receive an honorarium for your hard work!

The elected individual would be required to prepare the IRC and Housing budget to bring to endorsement of the council. The election will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 9am at Upper Canada College, Norval during the annual IRC Summer Weekend where you will get to meet the council you’ll be working with all year!

If you’re interested in this position or would like to learn more about it e-mail Mandy Tam, the IRC President, at [email protected] m. Nomination forms need to be submitted by Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11:59pm.

If you've just finished first year, yes. If you're going into first year, no. Mainly because the IRC is there to accomodate first years experience in residence and if you're entering first year it just doesn't make sense. Nevertheless, if you're entering first year you can become a FLIRC and eventually run for VP Finance! AND I HIGHLY recommend that you do!

You can't nominate people, Rohan. He can apply for it, for sure though. However, it is up to the entire council who the next VP Finance is.
