Kin 3SS3 or Health Sci 3K03 or Mol Bio 3HH3
Hi guys,
I read the course description of all these courses and they all seem interesting, but I can only take 1 or 2 of these courses (depending on the conflict I am having). which of these are easy in terms of workload and easy to get good grades relative to each other and also as an elective.

I didn't take kin or health sci but I took mol bio with Dr. Dej this yr and I enjoyed it! There were 3 tests, tutorials (where you have to do 1 presentation and watch 5 others), and a non cumulative final exam...Dr. Dej isn't teaching it this yr so I guess the format will be somewhat different but basically this course talks about microtubules, actin filaments, pathways, development in c elegans and fruit flies, etc etc etc. I wouldn't say that this is an easy elective but as long as you understand the lecture material and memorize the pathways you'll be fine.

I took Health Science 3K03 in fall last year. It is a very interesting course. You learn about individual viruses and there mechanisms of action in the beginning and towards the end you start analyzing virus-host responses. The course is made of up quizzes, two essays, and a final exam. The quizzes encompass about 2-3 lectures worth of material. They are easy to do good in if you study well since they are mostly application based, but don't lag on the studying otherwise you won't fair so well. The essays are easy and involve research of primary articles. The exam is pretty difficult, but nothing to worry about. All the lectures are recorded, so you can always refer back to them. Don't worry about this course being difficult, just keep up with your studies and you're good. Best of luck with your choice.

I thought HS 3K03 was only offered term 1, and Mol Bio 3hh3 was only offered term two? I'm having trouble picking courses for term 2, and I wanted to take the two health sci courses (immuno/virology) but the problem is they're only offered term 1...

Mol Bio 3HH3 bored me to death. I dropped it. That said, I did write one midterm which was very easy. The course is memorization heavy and if you're good at memorizing it will be easy. But like I said, it was very boring which, for me at least, made it difficult to study for.

Yeah same it's ridiculous - also, like 2-3 courses I could potentially take in term 2 are all at 8:30am...wtf? So I either have courses I don't want at all in term 2, or I have courses I want but 8:30 classes which are the worst...and even with either of those I still don't have like a full 10 courses for year III :(

I know! I'm trying to convince myself that I'll wake up early and "pay attention" at 8:30 but I think I'm being a little too optimistic and that will never happen :(. I think I'll have to resort to taking random electives if I can't figure it out by the 8th :/

I'm taking Mol Bio 3HH3, Bio 3SS3, LS 3C03...not sure about the two others at this time. I was also thinking of biochem 3h03 but it's 8:30am, and I was planning to take LS 3A03 semester 1 because in semester 2 it's 8:30am 3x a week...but then again so is biochem 3h03...
I think they really fracked up the schedules this time around, I've never had so much trouble filling up a course schedule and had so much unevenness (term 1 is fine, term 2 is horrid).

You guys should look into taking Bio 3AA3 in term 2. I've heard it's fairly easy and it's not at 8:30

How about Molecular Biology 4H03? If you are taking Biochem 3G03 in term 1 then you can take it. Looks tough though.
