Kinesiology 1F03

I'm surprised this course doesn't have a review yet. Anyway, this is a first year mandatory course for first year kinesiology students. You learn about diets, nutrients, metabolism, and their effects on health. I found this course to be very interesting and applicable to daily life.

I had Professor Philips, who was excellent. He made a lot of jokes and was great at explaining concepts. On a few Fridays, he would have certain lectures where we picked what we learned about and didn't have to take notes (called "Fun Fridays" or sometimes "Funner Fridays" because he believes all Fridays were fun); these were the most entertaining.

The textbook I found completely useless, just go to his lectures and read the powerpoints. It does come with the software needed for assignment 2, but I would just buy the software if possible. Also, in lectures he would have Tophat questions, which is an app on your phone to replace iclickers. These questions were easy.

The breakdown:
20% midterm 1
20% midterm 2
10% assignment 1
15% assignment 2
5% tophat
30% exam

The assignments were fair but the TAs did get a bit picky.

The midterms were good, though some questions did seem to come out of nowhere and were quite difficult. Other than that, his questions were pretty easy and the course was great.
