Lab: student number
In my lab it says "your student number is UVWXYZ"

and then it's like use WX.Zg of blah, etc..
but my student number is 7 digits, not 6
so my student num is like: 1xx5xx4
which digit do I omit?

I've always had to ignore the first number for certain things at mac. In my case it was a 0. In yours i guess its a 1.

I'd ignore the preceeding numbers over the last numbers, because if you're in a first year course, its assumed that you're of a certain year (i.e in my year, our student numbers started with 08...). Unless your student number is less than 09....

tl;dr: ignore the 1
