Life Sci 2AP3
This course is an experiential education course offered through the life sciences department open to many honours programs. This was a brand new course offered this year and is open to students wanting to do research with a professor at McMaster University. This includes the graduate schools (medical school, PA school, etc.). I am taking this course right now (Winter 2014) and many students have asked for a description about this course. The application for registration in this course is due 30 days prior to the start of the term so essentially, this course can be taken over the summer. In this course, you need to find a supervisor on campus that will supervise your research project. I had the opportunity to do research in the medical school and I am finding this course a great base for a thesis in 4th year. I'm working with a medical school professor and his graduate students learning research skills that will benefit me in the future. This course has many benefits, such as increasing your network connections for graduate applications (e.g. reference letters) and sometimes publishing your work in a journal. As well, you make your own course outline, which makes this central around your work ethics. It's an open-ended course for students that want to start doing some research to get a feel for it and possibly continue onto a thesis. Feel free to ask any questions, I'm more than willing to help.

Hello,
I was thinking of taking this course for Winter 2015 or in the summer . Is there a course outline for this? I am in only in second year and I was thinking about doing some research but I am new to McMaster. I don't have any particular research in mind but if I am able to find a professor whose research interests me, would I be able to do research with them?
Thanks
