LOL why are the reviews on here so bad for this course?
I took this course in Fall 2013 and it was definitely one of my favorite courses in undergrad. I am quite sure the course has not changed since then either. Yes, there is a lot of memorization, but the content is so practical and relevant (most of the time) that I don't mind it at all. However, if you aren't the type of person who is good at memorizing facts, then you're better off taking another course (For the sake of your mark).
Dr. Pincivero is a great professor. Sure, he goes off topic sometimes but the man is so relaxed and really knows his stuff. Make sure you ask him questions!
As for the testing material... There were a couple of quizzes, which were pretty easy if you attended class and actively listened. Also, I did with a couple of friends so it was easier that way. As for the tests, they were MC and SA. The MC were super easy, like straight memorization... the SA consisted explaining things in one or two sentences and labelling diagrams. Some people found the SA hard. If you study properly, and memorize the shit out of everything you're good to go.
This course requires time. If you put in the time you will do great. I ended up with an 11 in the course. It was my best mark that semester. If you're good at memorizing (what do you expect, its a kin-type course!) and willing to put the time in you will succeed. You will also gain beneficial knowledge when it comes to healthy eating in general. If I had to choose again, I'd take this course over MANY other courses. You can't go wrong with it!
