im pretty sure every year has allotted slots, so you wont find out till solar opens for first years. I really doubt theyd let 3rd and 4th years fill up the course..

I am in faculty of science going into second year so is ling 1A03 full?

You're missing the point.

They allocate certain numbers of spots to certain people. Since no second-year science students have been able to register yet, nobody who has access to SOLAR can tell you if the course is currently available for those students.

For a course like this, it probably isn't as specific as "science, second year". More than likely it's something like "non-humanities above first year", but I really don't know for sure.

Bottom line is that you won't know until you get on and see for yourself.
