I apologize if there's already a topic like this, but just an FYI to Chad. I was forwarded to a 'your computer has a virus!' site by one of the ads (which one I'm not sure). My screenshots include the time stamps.

I was just randomly browsing the forums, I clicked on a thread and then it happened just like the screenshots. (The funny thing is, the image was broken (see screenshot 2) so it was completely pointless)

It's particularly annoying however because I had to "End Task" IE. to browse away from the page this time.

EDIT: Photobucket made the screens rather small, but I have larger ones if you have difficulty reading it.

The URL in the 2nd screenshot (if it helps) is:

91.212.127.4/s2/?fff=%3DGQ35jTzNy0wMi ZpcD0yNC4yMTMuODIuMjQ 5JnRpbWU9MTI2NjYwOI0M aQ%3DO (with an http:// in front, which I've omitted so no one accidentally clicks it)

I agree, do not use IE. It is not that good anymore, and if you are totally against Firefox you could always use Google Chrome, which is really cool, IMO.
Also, nice background.

Ok this isn't a 'rate my desktop' thread guys...not to come off annoyed or anything, but no, I'm not computer illiterate. In fact, I'm using a web forum right now.

I use IE in addition to Firefox because Firefox has more unresolved issues with ELM and I'm frequently accessing it. Not to mention, Firefox had compatibility issues with Adobe in the past, I don't really want to find out if it's still true. Last but not least, running 64 bit windows vista, Firefox has many other compatibility issues. That being said, I do some things on IE, others on FF.

And no, my homepage has not been changed.

Jeff: Yes, the originals are bigger than 1 MB. I'm running 1920x1200, and saved the files in MSPaint as bmps (Yes I can convert them, but unless I anticipated people to come in here and have a cow about it, I had no reason to since Photobucket does it for me). I'm not making a work of art here.

Hm. That looks slightly different than the "ads" I got on MacInsiders before. It's the same idea, but I think mine was worded differently.

1) Awesome pun!
2) I've reported the original post, so a message will go right to Chad's inbox in case by chance he overlooked the post accidentally

I think it's some kind of Adsense thing were you just type in key words/it tracks keyphrases from your site and gives you ads that are similar to those themes. No control over it, unless it's a scam site or w/e.
