With its inaugural event having taken place in January 14, 2012 at the Ron Joyce Centre in Burlington, the McMaster Capital Markets Conference & Competition (MAC CMC) was a milestone event for the Mac Investment Club and the DeGroote Finance Association. Over
300 student and industry delegates have participated in the event since then, which included speaker presentations, workshops, discussion panels, and networking sessions. Firms present included TD, BMO, RBC, CIBC, Scotia Capital, Morgan Stanley, and many more.
Being a member of the executive committee will be a great educational experience while providing practical experience by exposing you to the finance industry. The MAC CMC executive team is a sub-committee of the Mac Investment Club and the DeGroote Finance Association, and as such, works in conjunction with the two clubs. Committee meetings will take place once a week during the regular school term, with significant e-mail and phone communication between members and the occasional meeting throughout the summer. Students in any faculty and year are welcome to apply.
To apply for a MAC CMC executive committee position, please send your resume and a short paragraph explaining why you would like to be an executive member of the Mac CMC to
[email protected] by 11:59PM on Thursday April 3rd. Interviews will take place the following week. In the paragraph please indicate your desire to be on the committee, your top two choices, and ideas for the conference and/or competition.
