Wow, what a summer it has been so far! We've been so focused on the recent improvements, Twitter updates, and Facebook integration to MacInsiders that we didn't notice we passed our 10,000th member goal! The MacInsiders community has grown by leaps and bounds over the past two months and we'd like to thank you all for joining and becoming a part of the community. We've had over 1,000 new students join in the past 30 days, bringing our total community size to over 10,400.

I'd like to extend a huge welcome to you all! Be sure to check out the MacInsiders Tour (click 'Tour' at the top of the site) to explore the many features and resources available to you.

A few updates and teasers for the upcoming weeks and months:

• Look for new Article Rewinds on getting involved on campus as well as what to bring to your student house/residence
• Articles on how to utilize LinkedIN as a student, how to write a good resume and cover letter, places to go for summer fitness, and more.
• Forum improvements will continue to happen as we tweak things to make it faster and easier to browse and share information and post questions and advice
• Look for a new rewards system coming soon

I'd also like to announce that following our posting three weeks ago, we've brought on 3 new Communications Interns who will be announced on our homepage soon. They will be posting some exciting new content for you all as well as keeping you informed with news and events, and updated via social media. Stay tuned for more info!

In addition to our Intern team, the MacInsiders Staff Team is being reworked with new positions and new moderator positions that we'll be announcing more about soon.

Way to go MI

Holy crap. That's an unexpected number...aren't there only like 20something thousand people who attend the school? That would make this almost half of all McMaster members.

Keep in mind many of these new members are first years coming to McMaster next year, and I don't think students who have graduated are being removed from the count. So the total pool of students is quite a bit more than 20,000.

That being said, WAY TO GO MI. Let's keep growing!

Well, there are people who graduated and people ar are not even attending mac yet on these forums too.. so keep that in mind.

But 10000 is still a solid number.

Right now there are currently 5,300 members who have identified themselves as first year students on their MI profile, and over 500 members who registered as 'prospective students'. So that's over 5,800 members that are first year or hopefully entering first year in Sept. It's great to see a lot of first-year students and prospectives signed up! Welcome!
