I heard that there's this volunteering event called macserve on sept 24th. I was wondering if anyone has done this and because of it, got to be a volunteer in that placement later on. I'm currently looking for volunteering opportunities to can get me a good reference letter

We would love for you to participate in Mac Serve Day of Service! There are plenty of students who get connected with great local agencies through their service, so that's definitely a possibility. will there be an interview if i want to sign up as a leader? as well, can a year 1 student be a leader?

There are no interviews, but the application has a few additional questions if you are applying to be a team leader. First year students are definitely able to act as team leaders; we choose our team leaders based upon their previous leadership experience, and their ability to guide a team through the day. If you are interested, don't hesitate to apply!
