The Made by Mac Creative Challenge is On!

 
Hey people!

For those interested, the Made by MAC contest at Titles Bookstore is now accepting submissions.

Enter any unique creative piece for your chance to win a new Mac Book Pro. Woohoo! Creative pieces can be a piece of music, podcast, short story, blog entry, digitally enhanced images, video, interactive game, etc.

Submissions will be put on the Made by MAC website and open for public voting between February 24 and March 2. The five pieces with the highest number of votes will go on to a showdown on March 9, the winner being chosen by a panel of judges.

Other prizes include a Wacom tablet and an Echo Livescribe Smartpen.

So we can start submitting entries now but they will be displayed only on/after 24th Feb?

Yes... you can submit now - we will be putting stuff up on Feb 24th. After Voting opens you can still submit you just have less days to get votes.

I feel that the voting process is really unfair. It's also really tedious because of the registration process,and although I see that the point of that is to prevent cheating... having a voting contest in the first place to determine who ends up in the final round seems to bias the whole contest.

All elections are swayed by a candidates personality and charisma. People don't vote exclusively on the issues they also take into account the feeling a candidate instills in them. Any democratic process can easily be called a popularity contest.

You guys are putting us in a no win situation. If we chose the winners on our own it is said that "Art is subjective and your not qualified to make a judgement" if we let the public decide you tell us that it is not fair because one person did a better job of networking than another. No matter how we set the rules someone will complain.

There's a couple grand worth of prizes and a great opportunity for students to have a bit of fun and showcase their talents and yes... part of the game is to stretch your networking skills and work to get as many votes as you can.
