You would need to take Economics 1B03 in your first year.

Economics 1BB3 is a required class in your 2nd year if you wish to pursue an Eng. Management degree.

Correct. At least, that's what the Undergraduate Calendar has led me to believe.

I doubt it. All MBA programs are different, but I don't think having a Management degree would lessen the time required to earn one. It might make some classes easier for you though.

management degree is sort of like doing a minor, or a double major in business.

Nothing will shorten your MBA. Even commerce students (if they choose to do an MBA) do not get a shorter MBA (even though MBA and Commerce programs do overlap in what they teach)

According to OSPE and PEO, many engineers nowadays end up in management positions at some point in their careers (usually sooner rather than later). Since engineering is an intrinsic part of a business having some business training from the get go doesn't hurt.

I know my dad has taken a number of business courses during his engineering career which covered topics I have studied in the commerce courses I've taken as part of the engineering and management program.

As far as an MBA goes, you will already have a background in finance, accounting, marketing and human resources which will undoubtedly make it somewhat easier for you when compared to someone who has not had formal business training.
