Hey guys,

Anyone know what Pedroza said about the questions here?

Are they close to what we'll see on the exam or just general examples?

Did he say anything else that's not on Avenue (i.e., anything specific about the exam)?

Thanks

"Questions here" as in the questions in the review slides? Uh-oh...I hope now, I didn't go through those. :/

I'm planning on going by what he went over during the last lecture, the kind-of-but-not-formally-scheduled-review.

...

It's kinda long...LOL. Let's see...

Section 7.8, The Comparison Theorem.

Section 9.2, Direction Fields.

Section 9.3, Seperable equations, applications of differential equations (how to model mathematically some process, please disregard utter lack of grammar on my part).

Section 9.4, Models for Population Growth (The Logistic Model, (1) Seperable Equations (2) Integration by parts. Also, The Law of Natural Growth).

Section 9.5, Linear equations

Section 10.1, Know what a parametric curve is/be able to identify

Section 10.2, Calculus with parametric curves (tangent, arc length. CHAPTERS 11 and 14 ARE IMPORTANT)

Section 10.3, Polar curves, be able to convert cartesian --> polar and vice versa. Calculate area.

Chapter 11, Harmonic series, Ratio Test (IMPORTANT), Geometric series, Test for Divergence (IMPORTANT), Comparison/Limit Comparison Test, Alternating Series Test/Estimation Theorem (IMP), Absolute vs. Conditional convergence.

Power series (V. V. V. IMP)

Section 11.10 - Power series, centred at 0 (MacLaurin) and at a (Taylor series)

Taylor's inequality.

He didn't go over Ch 14 since we just finished it. And that's that!

So during the exam review, did he say anything about the level of difficulty of the exam compared to those review questions?

Did he say it will be similar to those? thanks a lot!

LOL yeah, I read the first page saying MC questions had no part marks, and I was like oh...there's a couple of MC.

And then I scan through the entire test..

WTF?

Still, one of the funnest exams I've written in a while.

THAT was my exact reaction. I seriously thought there would only be a couple!

The questions were pretty straight-forward, no? If you're not prepared, you're doomed. If you've prepared even slightly, you're good to go!
