I always thought it was the FYEO who organized it (fye.mcmaster.ca). I couldn't find anything on their website though, so I'm starting to think that everything is organized by it's own respectful department.
If you want to give a tour of the ath/rec building for instance, you should contact the ath/rec office. If you want to give a tour of residences, then you would be contacting housing (housing.mcmaster.ca) .

Yeah. I would still try FYEO first... Maybe they do the campus tours... I can't remember where the campus tours were under before they moved the page to the future students section. That's the one thing I hate about the new future students page section, you have no idea what sections belong to which departments.

last year i emailed about volunteering (i emailed "student success centre" here http://studentsuccess.mcmast er.ca/contact-us.html ) and someone replied saying they would forward my email to the person who deals with all the [email protected] stuff and nobody ever got back to me. but from what ive looked into, its campus tour guides who give tours (and its a part of their job, not volunteer)

when i was a WW rep a couple years ago, they asked us to volunteer. So I assume they give these positions to 2012 WW reps since they have done interviews and know they are capable/mature enough

Oh right, I forgot that FYEO changed their department name to the student success centre... thanks for pointing that out.

I actually got an email asking for volunteers from Rowena ( [email protected]) who handles it but that's regarding Humanities. You could email her and ask her to direct you to the engineering rep.

I still remember when I went to the may @ mac open house 2 years ago. It was without a doubt a very interesting event. Dr. Ken Coley gave a presentation about the faculty of engineering in ITB 137...until this day, every time I pass by that room, I remember when I was sitting there with my family. Good times.
If you are a prospective student viewing this thread, I would definitely recommend going to the event. You will get to know the campus more, meet upper year students who can answer your questions, and might meet some profs.

Great question Jonathan, it's great to see you are wanting to help out! [email protected] is run by the Student Success Centre. They used to be called the First Year Experience Office (FYE or FYEO).
Since they are very busy around this time I would give them a call instead of e-mailing, you can find their contact here: http://studentsuccess.mcmast er.ca/
