McMaster Bone Marrow Drive Needs Volunteers!
Hey All,
Just a reminder that Get Swabbed! is hosting a volunteer information session tomorrow, at 6:30pm, in Mills L310/D.
Cheers,
Warren Fingrut
Get Swabbed! Volunteer Coordinator
"Get Swabbed!" is a student run executive that is planning a Bone Marrow Drive at McMaster, and we need volunteers! The drive will run this November 2nd, 2010 and will take place in the student centre atrium. Students passing by the student centre will be asked to swab their cheeks and join the Bone Marrow Registry, to have the chance to save a life.
Volunteers are needed for many different roles, including:
- Advertising in the weeks leading up to the drive (class announcements, posting flyers, helping us draw ads in chalk during our "sidewalk chalk nights")
- Advertising on the day of the drive (asking students passing by to sign up during the drive)
- Guiding students through the swabbing process on the day of the drive.
- Educating students on the day of the drive about Bone Marrow Donation
Our first Get Swabbed! volunteer information session will be on Thursday, October 14th, at 6:30pm, in Mills L310/D. At this session, we will be explaining and going through opportunities to volunteer for the drive. If you cannot make this meeting but still want to volunteer, or if you would like more info about the drive, please contact Warren (the drive's Volunteer Coordinator) at [email protected]
