McMaster Life Science Co-op
Hello there!
This is my first post in McMaster Insiders.

I've recently gotten my acceptance letter for Life Sciences, and on OUAC it says there is no co-op included within my offer. The specialization I chose was Biochemistry (COOP BIOMED SCI). I was wondering what this meant?
If I don't have co-op written on my offer, I won't have it for all my 4 years of university?
And if not, could I change my specialization to one that has co-op?

EDIT:

When could I apply for co-op, in second and third year?

Thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think there is a co-op for first year students at mac at all, unlike something like waterloo engineering where it is guaranteed. At Mac, you also have to apply to a coop in later years to get it. I don't understand why on the ouac application it asks for coop when you don't get one first year >_>, but yea anyways in your upper years at mac you can apply for coops.

Co-op starts in third year. You have to apply for a specific program for Co-Op. Sadly Life Science doesn't offer it.

OUAC asks for a specific program and coop/non-coop to get an idea of numbers so the school can plan ahead for things. You got accepted into Life Sci, no co-op. If you choose a specialization in 2nd year that has co-op (such as biochem with a biomedical sciences specialization), then you can apply for co-op going into third year.
