Study guide is useful. Lots of practice questions. I'd devote some time to this if I were you.

Textbook is good too. Not sure if it is needed though. Most people could probably get by without it.

The lecture powerpoint slides that the professor provides are much better, study and take notes off those and its way better than reading off the textbook

They're useful if you like big paperweights.

It's not that useful, but since it's a 1st year course you can sell it next term really quickly.

If you took econ in high school, you dont need the textbook. i read the slides, made some notes and did ALL of the assignments and i ended with an 11 in the course (basically an A or mid to high 80's).

also if someone you know bought a textbook then for the amount you need it, it may be easier to borrow off them, even if you give a them a few beers in return

The slides are adequate enough for you to do well in the course. I didn't crack open the textbook once.

I'm taking ECON 1B03 and i'm pretty sure Prof.Holmes said " Everything on the test will be from the slides."

I still bought the textbook though

I went through the whole course and never opened the textbook, only relied on her lecture slides and notes I took and I came out with an 11 in the course, IMO I don't think it's really needed at all
