Microeconomics VS Macroeconomics
I was told that Economics is a really good course to take as an elective. Questions is, Macroeconomics or Micro??
The prof for Macro is O'SHAUGHNESSY, B and for Micro HOLMES, H.
Any advice on the courses itself and/or the profs?

I (and many others) found that macro is more interesting, but micro is easier....especially if you have Holmes...and like football

I'm taking Macro right now and so far its pretty interesting. I can't compare it to Micro unfortunetly but from what I hear Macro is the interesting course while Micro is the easier course. Also Micro is more mathematical while Macro is more theoretical stuff. Micro apparently you don't use APLIA while in Macro you do so thats if you take cost into consideration Micro would be $70 cheaper lol.

Anyways if you want to just get a small taste of Macro listen to the first lecture podcast here: http://socserv.mcmaster.ca/oshaubr/econC01.html

Macro is more interesting but Micro was a complete joke. If you like football (NFL) you will enjoy the class much more, like I did. I got a 8 in macro and a 10 in micro with barely any effort.

I would take micro, its easier, not as time consuming

I'd agree with what everyone else is saying. Micro is a lot easier to manage than Macro, but Macro is more interesting and applicable to what you see in the news. If you're searching for electives, why not do both. It's definitely possible to get a 12 in each.

We didn't use APLIA with Holmes during the school year for Micro. Not sure it changed though.

Course load
How similar is the workload between 1b03 and 1bb3? I am going to have 1b03 first term and i was wondering if knowledge of that course would help me in 1bb3?

The first 4 chapters for both courses are identical.
