Minor in Math and Statistics
I was wondering if me taking Math 1Z04 and Math 1ZZ5 is good enough for first year instead of the courses specified on the minor.

http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calen...nt/pg1599.html

I noticed that my courses were anti-requisites for most of the courses except MATH 1B03 in which it says not open for anyone registered in an Engineering program. So I think I am okay, just making sure.

Are you in the engineering program? If not, you may not be allowed to take those courses (they also won't exist next year, being replace with math 1ZA3, 1ZB3 and 1ZC3).

You should be fine...but be wary of the following fact:

"In order to complete a Minor in Mathematics and Statistics, at least 12 units (above Level I) must be elective to degree." (right from the page you linked)

Engineers take a lot of math as it is, and this means you'll have to take 12 units of extra math, which is not part of your degree. This unfortunately means, you'll be taking more difficult courses than if someone in say, the humanities completed a math minor.

Im not actually an Engineer, Im in the Computer Science program. So I dont have to take any math courses throughout my 2nd-4th years unless they are elective. Although I was required to take 1Z04 and 1ZZ5 in my first year
