Creativity cures boredom. Material, capitalist society brainwashes people.

Money does make you happier but only in the short term. Right when you're gonna die, it's not money that's gonna make you leave this world happy.

True happiness will stay with you forever

PS : Trust me, I've seen some people die with a smile on their face. They were poorer than a homeless person in Canada.

however, most people are much more concerned about living happy than dieing happy. People in general lack foresight.

According to a recent study, beyond $75,000, money is important for life evaluation, but does nothing for happiness, enjoyment, sadness or stress.

It's because of people like this that the world is still spinning.

People like that show that money isn't everything. And money certainly doesn't guarantee happiness.

In the words of Drake on 'Up All Night':
"People with no money act like money isnt everything"

Now, since the musical interlude is complete, continue the argument

Since Pie =/= Cake,
therefore money =/= happiness.

I'm not sure this is the best example. Even in the article they admit that they have more than enough money to live a happy life and are 'well to do'. As has been said by a few posters earlier, money does equal happiness, but only up to a certain amount.

"We were sitting quite well before we ever won this money. We weren't millionaires, but we were well to do."

Violet, who lost her hair shortly after collecting their cheque in July in Moncton, N.B., added simply that they need nothing more than each other.

"We never had that money, we never went without anything but we wasn't born with silver spoons in our mouths, so we knew we had to work for what we got," she said.

"We have each other — that's the main thing. We don't live in a modern house or have new cars, no fandangle things. You're born with nothing, you're going to die the same way."

The couple said they aren't "travellers" or "bar-hoppers," and don't even own a microwave.

They had enough to get by comfortably. That doesn't meant that they had a lot of money.

Look at it like this.

The best things in life, in my opinion, don't require money. Love, either romantic or between friends, is a prime example. Happiness for free.

But because of where and how we live, a lot of our happiness comes from being able to sustain ourselves with the least amount of effort required. This is where money comes in. People who win the lottery are happy because they can retire and live a life of ease. Convenience makes people happy. Being able to do things without worrying about finances makes people happy.

I could launch into a whole thing about Maslow's heirarchy and its relation to different communities, and where this "money=happiness" thing falls, but I shall spare you
