Hey so i go to the website (http://www.mcmaster.ca/msaf/) and click on "I Agree", fill in my student ID and number when the box pops up... but then nothing.

This is unlikely since the box for your student ID pops up but you may have a pop-up blocker on...

It works for me but it opens a new page so maybe try a different browser?

It works for me on firefox, but only after I disabled my 'adblock plus' add-on, which was blocking the pop-up student id sign-in window. You also have the option of missing the test or whatever, and then going into the office of the associate dean for your faculty. The associate dean's office (for science at least) is very understanding and will help you sort this out. You are also more likely to get it deferred if you go through the office of the associate dean. The MSAF sends out an automatic email to the prof that sometimes get missed, but the office of the dean's emails stick out more and they follow up on the problem. Since you are in the faculty of science, you can find the office of the associate dean in BSB, just go in the main entrance and it's the first room in the hall on the left, and is very well labeled.

tl;dr try to get the msaf to work, but you always have the office of the associate dean as a back-up.
