Some/most of these places sound phenomenal. I live on Thorndale in a room that used to be the dining room and pay 500 a month with utilities. The landlords are really nice but it's still fairly expensive. Then again, it is only 2 minutes away from ABB and no carpets (allergies) which is why it seems pretty nice.
I used to live in a place that was 600 (utilities inclusive) but in a basement. It had its own bathroom though (as did every room in the house) which is likely why it was so pricey.

Ugh, I'm jealous. I'm moving to Toronto and rent there is like...$1500/month for a decent place.
On topic, I paid $350/month without utilities for a house about 15min away, behind the Fortinos on Main St, and $390/month without utilities for a place in Westdale (near King and Longwood).

yadda yadda I'm in West Village also, which is $604 now for a 4 person room all inclusive utilities (run dat AC/Water/Internet Bandwidth all day). I love it here but the community kind of sucks as most people are just from Mississauga. Sometimes I wish I had joined a house just for the sort of brotherhood that comes along with it but I've been in some pretty disgusting houses. West Village is ridiculously clean and new. But then again, I don't pay the bills

That house sounds like our house too, so I am guessing it is farily common for Thorndale

That's quite expensive. Could you elaborate a bit on why it is that much? Are you living alone? Apartment?

I'm living with one other person in a 2 bedroom house in Westdale. We have access to the whole house except for the upstairs, which is a separate apartment. That means we get the main floor and basement (semi-finished) all to ourselves, as well as a nice backyard, decent sized porch, parking space, etc.
We are probably overpaying by a little bit though..

$375 per month for a room on Emerson Street. It's really close to campus, so I think it's worth it.

You think so? Everywhere we looked when we went house hunting seemed to have similar prices, we saw a lot worse places in the $500 range. Where is everyone getting this cheap stay at?
