You know, I was looking up private schools the other day (my girlfriend is applying for teaching jobs), and I was appalled at how high the tuition is...as one mere example of how money rules peoples' lives.

One place, which I won't name, charges $33,000 per highschool year for enrollment! That's more than I paid for my entire university career to date!

Sure, it can be argued that you set high standards, buy state of the art equipment, and really impact these students' lives...

Maybe I'm just like, a closet-case communist or something, but I'd rather get a little worse equipment, enroll more students and impact a greater number of lives.

Will the next Einstein really be any better off with a $5,000 computer as opposed to a $3,000 computer? (I realize there is more to it than that...but this is kind of how I see this picture)

In that case, we're both closet-case communists
