New Email System Update
Soooo about E-mail....

I just wanted to update everyone on the email project and its status. The MSU/UTS are currently receiving quotes from different companies to do the integration for both Microsoft and Google, and will have these quotes by Monday. Also each company knows that our deadline for integration is January so a new system by January is realistic.

I will let you all know how things are going in more detail once we have all the quotes next week.

In the meantime what companies 'solution' to our email perdicament do you like the most?

Personally, I am big fan of Google related applications. I have completely abandoned my Live account and no longer use it. I find the attract features of Google are its great UI, and collaboration between applications.

I vote Google!

(I am sooo glad we are getting a new email system...the current one seems to have come from the stone age lol)

Google!

Cleaner interface, greater integration, and it means you'll be able to continue to keep your McMaster email and gmail integrated. Also much better spam filters, less bugs, etc

I also don't like the fact that the Microsoft features that come with the "companions" to their paid products, rather than full products.

Well you guys will get the opportunity to do so and actually make a choice that supports either side very soon. We are "possibly" planning on releasing the survey for the last two or last week of October. It would really benefit our cause if we get at least a thousand+ respondents to our survey. It gives our efforts with UTS alot of legitimacy, our biggest selling point is that "students really want a new email system" and in order to prove that we need a big turnout for the survey.

Watch us end up with Microsoft. Just watch.

(Please let them pick Google. It is ridiculously superior.)
