What are the odds?
What are the odds of a full course opening up as of August 15th.

Shall I one: keep checking
two: wait for next year
three: call the departement
four:wait to speak to an academic councillor

five: wait till the drop add period in September and then add it when it will most likely have open seats.

if it's a required course for your desired program then call the department

I need two more classes for my list before I can graduate and the three that I have the option of taking are all full :S So, I went to the department. The said that I'd just have to keep trying especially during the drop/add period. The others said they'd try to open up a seat.

If taking this class is a high priority for you, the department will do it's best. Otherwise, they say those frustrating words: "just keep trying" AHHHH

An academic counsellor is great for helping figure out what courses you need. But, if you go to them asking for help getting into a full class, they will just say, "keep trying" or "go talk to your department

I always keep trying. There were 3 courses I wanted that were full. I kept trying (maybe for 30 minutes every day for a week) and I got in.
I remember last year, all the classes I wanted were full until September. I got in them all like September 10th!

If it's a required course, call the department/see an academic advisor.
