That's actually not a bad idea at all! I carpool currently with a friend sometimes, but I think our schedules are becoming more and more out of whack :S...

From what I've seen, the strike isn't really having any effect other than making people wait to get into campus.
Most (if not all) Engineering labs and tutorials are open. Same with other faculties. There are so many TAs still working, it's really not doing anything to the school at all. Some faculties (like Political Science) shut down all tutorials as soon as they started striking, but I'd bet there's enough TAs still working, they didn't even need to.
That's why I don't mind if people protest the strike, talk about it, etc. The school isn't being inconvenienced very much. I think CUPE is going to be striking for a loooong time unless they take Mac's offer, because Mac isn't having much trouble dealing with their strike.

I totally agree with Kathy2, I'm in Life Science and my classes seem to be proceeding pretty normally despite the strike
Since I live down Emerson I don't think I've even seen a picket line this week =S
Kinda sad that Mac functions so smoothly still despite CUPE making a strike

Guess it defeats the purpose of striking to make an organization realize that they need their workers. XD
My tutorials and such are still going on. Except for my stats prof who is a LAZY DICK to say the least, but that's a story for another time.

One of my profs was telling me yesterday a bunch of the engineering grad TAs got together and decided to just ignore the strike and keep working.

Some of us aren't happy about the way the strike is leaving some undergrads out in the cold. So those of us that are breaking the strike are trying to pick up the slack from the (very few) striking TAs, if at all possible within our department. Unfortunately, a lot of the TA stuff is labs and I think for liability reasons we're not allowed to cover those. We can, however, provide informal tutorials. I just wish that I had a broader set of 'teachables' so I could help more.
