They actually have a decent case.
There was no due process in the domain take down, and rumors are saying that they managed to take them down due to a technicality. Much like police cant hold you or seize property w/o filing charges and paperwork, the government cant do the same to a website w/o taking the owners to court and getting an inunction. it'll be interesting to see how a court case plays out now that the government crossed that dangerous line.

Do these offer an option to keep lists of what you're reading?

It'll probably start happening with the anime sites too. I remember when crunchyroll used to be awesome, and YouTube was pretty good too. It's too bad really.

Damn I will miss OneManga. Thanks for posting the OM alternatives though! Looks like Manga Fox will replace OM for me.

A combination of all those different websites will do for me. None of them have all of the series I was reading, lol. That list was very useful, though - very quickly bookmarked!

For me, its not so much that there's no other place to read manga; there's tons of sites for that. It's just like... a big part of the manga community is now gone. Onemanga had a legacy and they were reliable. I'll miss them. Tired of fighting a losing battle against these licensing companies. Most series I read have over 20 volumes and I can't afford to buy each one for 11 dollars, sorry. In japan the costs are much lower because they are domestic, but that's still no reason for the companies here to charge triple the value and scam us all. Yeah, I understand the translating/shipping etc. costs, but this is getting ridiculous because this hasn't just been happening for manga, but for a lot of other anime related merch as well.

Especially considering it can barely take an hour to read through a volume sometimes. I can buy a book that will take me a month to get through for the same price. It's ridiculous.

I think the issue is with the writers... they are being more strict with issuing licences and such.

Paying my respects to onemanga
I've gotta say im really going to miss onemanga.com :(

That wasn't quite my reactions...but I suppose it sums it up. I was pretty sad to see it go - I was introduced to that website to read my first ever manga (Death Note!) and was following a couple of series...so it's a blow...

9panels seems AWESOME. Thanks!
