Summer jobs? I know it's a bit late, but working in part time throughout high school and saving would have helped tremendously.

woah... you got a lot for OSAP!!
I got $0 haha. You should be happy with what you get. Getting $15,000 doesn't come by easily.

I'm going to try to get a job on campus to help with any extra costs I might have.

OSAP is largely based on how much money your parents make.

osap
awww, dont panick much. first year is the most expensive year, no matter what program. engineering is just way more because you take 3 extra courses i think.
may be you should apply for a double room and cheaper rez, it might be too late now, but doesnt hurt to try.
or, may be you should opt out of rez and live in a house off campus, you will save about $3000 plus. as rez and the meal plans are overpriced!
i dont see how you can pay the difference, unless you do apply for a bank loan.
no matter how much u saved from high school, it still wont be enough. i spent all my savings on first year expenses (laptop took a good chunk).
And i dont think you should get a job in ur first year, since engineering is the hardest program in 1st year.

I didn't apply, because I couldn't.
Had I applied, I would have gotten $0.
P.S. add another $1000 for books.
Also, it looks like your OSAP is covering your tuition... and plus some...
So you basically complaining that OSAP isn't covering for your living/food? lol... get a job?

You should be smart and buy used books. I only spent around 500$ on my books in first year.

You're lucky bud. It sucks when they come out with new editions, or the prof uses a book published in the same year as the course. Half of my books had to be new 'cause of that.

Having a job in first year is one thing, having a job in first year engineering is another. The author is having trouble since OSAP only releases 60% in first term, if it was all of it, then it wouldn't be as big a problem.
