Every year the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (better known as OUSA) runs an awareness campaign called
Blue Chair. OUSA represents the interests of over 140,000 students at 7 universities across Ontario, and strives towards an accessible, affordable, accountable and high quality post-secondary education by developing policy based solutions to challenges facing higher education, and
lobbying the government to implement them.
This year, the campaign is being held at McMaster from February 28 to March 4. The blue chairs represent the lost potential when access to university is restricted due to financial, cultural, informational, motivational or geographical barriers.
Keep your eyes open for:
“Big Blue Chair” Contest
During Blue Chair Week, there will be a gigantic
BLUE CHAIR on campus. Take a picture of you or your friends in the chair in the most CREATIVE way possible, upload it to the Facebook event, and the picture with the most “likes” by the end of the week will win a $400 gift card to Titles!
OUSA Speakers Corner
Have you ever wanted the chance to vent about your education? From March 1 – 3, the OUSA Street Team will be giving you a chance to do just that! Come by the OUSA table and you’ll get a chance to be filmed while venting about your education.
“Into the Blue” Club Night @ TwelvEighty on THURSDAY MARCH 3
Pancake Breakfast on FRIDAY MARCH 4
Look for the blue chairs all over campus, visit our table in the student center, sign our accessibility banner, and most importantly, educate yourself at ousa.ca/bluechair
Please help Ontario youth find their seat.
