Physics For Life Science?
WOULD THIS BE A GOOD IDEA? Ok so tomorrow I am going to do a course change. I am planning on dropping physics because the requirements say either/or physics or chem. I am going to keep chemistry and drop physics.

My top courses would then me. (U LEVEL)

Biology, Chemistry, English, Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, Exercise Science.

ALL GRADE 12 obviously.

is this ok to do ? because I am no good at physics, and my school is tough for that class, OPINIONS PLEASE?

To be honest, I was in the same position you're in, during my grade 12 year. I had a brutal high school physics teacher, and physics is my weakness. But, as long as you have 6 courses that have higher marks than physics, those marks are what will determine your average to get into university. Since physics isn't a required course for lifesci entrance, it won't be counted in the top 6. Just take your required courses and some easy electives and you'll be fine.

You'll end up taking physics in first year lifesci anyway, and if you don't take highschool gr. 12 physics, you'll have to take two physics courses instead of just one, which will definetly impact your GPA. I'd say take it in highschool where it won't affect your average too much, and you'll (hopefully) only have to take the one physics in first year life sci.

this is the reasoning I came up when I had to make this decision last year Good luck!

You'll have to take Grade 12 Physics in University (Physics 1L03) and for a lot of level II programs you have to take Level I Physics (Physics 1B03).

Knowing that information you can decide on whether you want to drop physics or not.

They don't rank you unless you are applying to a program like Health Science. As long as you meet the requirements, they only look at your average.

I didn't take Gr. 12 physics and instead took both 1L03 & 1B03 in my first year. It's not too bad. 1B03 is the hard one but u have to take that whether or not u take Gr. 12 physics.

Okay, you need to relax...you've been told about 10 times on these forums that you are NOT RANKED BASED ON WHAT COURSES YOU TAKE, as long as you meet the requirements it's only your AVERAGE that matters, and that the only programs with any form of human intervention for acceptances are ones with supplementary applications (health sci, artsci, etc).

Your gr12 average decides if you get in. Your first year average decides what level 2 programs you can do, and can possibly have an impact on any professional schools you want to get into. You'll have to take physics in either gr12 or first year...when can you afford a lower mark?
You can also make physics not count in your gr12 average by taking more than 6 U/M courses...you already took bio last year, so that wouldn't mean you'd need more courses than anyone else.
