Dont waste your time going there for laces. I went there looking for red laces too, and they didnt' have any. So I used that as an excuse to get new shoes that came with red laces ;D

Stores like Stiches now have hoodies that look just like the American Apparel ones, but don't have all the colours that AA offers. If you don't feel like spending $67777596859608 for a hoodie at AA, maybe consider Stitches as an alternate.

As for the red shoelaces, try West 49 or maybe even stores that sell shoes exclusively like Athletes World or Foot Locker. I'm not sure if the latter will have any red laces, but stores often surprise you, so it's always worth a check.

If you're ever at Square One by any chance, still looking for the laces, try Boathouse

Now is actually a good time to shop online, they have free shipping for Canada. Unfortunately the AA-style sweaters that were on sale for $13 sold out in every colour except light blue, but there are still lots of cheapish sweaters.

Footlocker. I have a bunch of logo-less t-shirts that I got from there. I can imagine they'd have logo-less hoodies, too.

I hate advertising on my shirts too, I find bluenotes to be quite epic. A high percentage of my wardrobe consists of bluenotes.

Bluenotes can be hit or miss. But for the most part, I find it to be "hit"

Definitely agreed about Bluenotes, I love that store. Old Navy and Bluenotes make up about 90% of my wardrobe.
